As Vegeta is ensnared by Buu, Trunks and Goten can no longer stand by, and rush to the scene to rescue him, while Piccolo attacks the defenseless Babidi and rips him to pieces. Feeling he cannot defeat Buu with conventional means, Vegeta says his farewells to Trunks before knocking both children out, instructing Piccolo to take them far away. Once everyone is cleared from the scene, Vegeta uses his last resort, overloading his Super Saiyan form and sacrificing himself in a massive self-destructive explosion, in order to obliterate Buu.

Goku arrives at the battle scene only to find Vegeta battered and badly beaten. With his dying breath, the Saiyan prince reveals the truth about Frieza’s roll in the death of Goku’s father, prompting a fierce outburst of Saiyan pride!

With the help of his friends, Goku succeeds in blasting Frieza with a gargantuan Spirit Bomb! Victory seems assured, but when the monster re-emerges to strike a shockingly fatal blow - Goku undergoes a powerful transformation!

Goku arrives in time to save Gohan and Krillin, and the resurrected warrior is eager to put the hurt on Nappa. When it becomes clear that Goku is no ordinary fighter, Prince Vegeta steps in to finish the fight himself!

Goku and Frieza continue their epic battle as planet Namek crumbles beneath their feet. Back on Earth, Gohan eagerly awaits word of his father’s ultimate fate!

The mysterious teenager easily takes out Frieza's soldiers, then surprises Frieza by transforming into a Super Saiyan. The evil tyrant attempts to destroy this second Super Saiyan, but has no success. Eventually, the teenager slices Frieza into pieces with his sword, before blasting him away. King Cold tries to defeat the Super Saiyan himself, but is also easily destroyed. After reverting to his normal state, the teenager spots the Z Fighters and claims that Goku will be arriving nearby soon. Despite their skepticism, the Z Fighters agree to join him in awaiting Goku's arrival.

At long last, Goku finally completes his journey from Earth and arrives on planet Namek. His friends are gravely injured, but the mighty Saiyan warrior has a bag full of magic beans and a powerful secret!

Vegeta gives his increased power and speed a test run by launching a violent attack on Frieza, but no matter how furiously he fights, the Saiyan is unable to penetrate his enemy's defenses!

On Earth, the Grand Elder dies again, but before his death, he gives his power to Moori, one of his eldest sons, making him the new Grand Elder, and thereby preserving the power of the Namekian dragon balls. Meanwhile, on Namek, the dying Frieza begs for mercy from Goku. Despite his better judgement, Goku cannot ignore Frieza's pleas for help and gives the tyrant some of his own ki before departing. However, Frieza lets his pride get the better of him and unleashes one final ki blast at Goku, but the Super Saiyan easily repels the blast right back at the tyrant and seemingly destroys Frieza in the process. Goku then attempts to escape in Frieza's spaceship, but is unable to make it take off. Namek finally explodes and it appears that Goku perishes along with the planet.

Krillin's furious attack wipes out the Saibamen, but the ZFighters are powerless against the Saiyan warlords. One by one, Earth's defenders suffer devastating injuries or fall in battle. Goku's return is their only hope for survival.

Krillin and Gohan team up to blast Vegeta with a Spirit Bomb, but the Saiyan prince refuses to die. Things look bad for the Z-Fighters until Yajirobe distracts the enemy long enough for Gohan to undergo a transformation of his own!

Frieza has begun his ultimate transformation, and Vegeta’s only hope to defeat the monster is suffering a mortal wound. If the Saiyan warrior can convince Dende to restore his strength, he may gain the power to defeat his enemy!

While Gohan races to save Piccolo, Goku inflicts a Super-Saiyan beating on Frieza. The blonde brawler’s impressive new powers drive his opponent to a desperate counterattack that could obliterate Namek!

After Goku is seemingly defeated by Frieza, Gohan enters the fight to avenge the loss of his father. Meanwhile, a newly resurrected Dende rushes to make a final wish before planet Namek is destroyed.

Despite the fury of their attacks, Goku and Piccolo are unable to land a death blow in their battle against Raditz. Gohan's unexpected outburst manages to weaken the powerful Saiyan, but it may be too little, too late.

The Saiyans have arrived, Goku isn't even on the planet, and the overmatched ZFighters represent Earth's last line of defense. When Vegeta and Nappa unleash the gruesome Saibamen, Yamcha picks a fight that could be his last!

Goku and Frieza go head to head in a vicious slugfest that threatens to destroy the planet of Namek. Krillin and Gohan are amazed by the brutality of the battle, but Piccolo believes two warriors are just warming up!

After three hours of waiting, a space pod crash lands on Earth and Goku emerges from it. There is no time for celebration, however, as the mysterious teenager pulls Goku aside to talk with him in private. After testing Goku's Super Saiyan powers, the teenager reveals that his name is Trunks and that he comes from an apocalyptic future 20 years from the present, as well as that he is the future son of Bulma and Vegeta. He further informs Goku that in three years from now, a pair of deadly androids, built by Doctor Gero of the former Red Ribbon Army, will begin a rampage on Earth and kill all of the Z Fighters, except for Goku, who will have died from a heart virus six months before their assault. Trunks then supplies Goku with a heart antidote made in his future timeline, instructing him to take it when the virus attacks him. Piccolo hears the whole conversation using his special hearing. Goku promises that he and the other Z Fighters will train hard for the next three years to prepare for the androids' assault, and Trunks then returns to the future in his time machine.

Before Android #19 can finish draining Goku's energy, Vegeta finally arrives, saving Goku by kicking the android in the face. Yamcha then escorts Goku back home in order to administer the heart antidote to him. Vegeta then squares up to the androids, and much to everyone's surprise, transforms into a Super Saiyan. It is revealed that, whereas Goku's first transformation was triggered by his rage over Frieza's murder of Krillin, Vegeta's was triggered by his rage at simply being unable to surpass Goku. The battle then begins, and it's clear that Vegeta has the edge over #19. Even the android's energy absorption attack proves futile, as Vegeta tears off the android's hands, making it impossible for it to absorb anymore energy from its opponents. As the android runs away in fear, Vegeta launches his Big Bang Attack and finishes the battle, leaving nothing but the android's head intact. Android #20 then escapes into the nearby cliffs, planning to use the terrain to launch a surprise attack on the Z Fighters.

Goku and Kid Buu continue to fight, each taking powerful blows from each other. Kid Buu folds himself into a ball again, and hits Goku hard. Goku puts all of his energy into a massive Kamehameha, but Buu just reforms afterward. Goku returns to his normal state, collapsing from exhaustion. Vegeta then steps in, but that finds he is no match for Buu. Buu cleans his clock, and just as he's about to deal Vegeta the finishing blow, Goku pushes him out of the way. He then powers back up to Super Saiyan 3 and continues their furious fight. Vegeta reminisces about all of the fights he and Goku were in. He finally admits to himself that Goku is better.

After easily defeating Dodoria, Vegeta begins his violent search for the two remaining Dragon Balls. Meanwhile, Krillin and his new friend Dende set out to warn the eldest Namekian of the horror headed his way!

The eldest Namekian unlocks the full force of Krillin's dormant power, so the bald brawler can better protect his Dragon Ball. Elsewhere, a Saiyan-related premonition prompts Frieza to call for reinforcements.

Intimidated by Vegeta's superior strength, Krillin reluctantly surrenders his precious Dragon Ball. A glimmer of hope remains after Gohan secures a ball of his own – but the young warrior is headed for a beat-down courtesy of Vegeta!

Vegeta intercepts Krillin and Gohan on their mad dash to get powered up by the Eldest Namekian, but larger problems loom on the horizon. Brace yourselves for the arrival of the Ginyu Force!

Vegeta ramps his battle power up to impressive levels, but he’s still no match for the Ginyu goons. To escape death, he’ll need help from some heroic former enemies. Meanwhile, Frieza tries to unlock the magic of the Dragon Balls!

As Frieza prepares for his ruthless interrogation of the Eldest Namekian, Goku shows off the benefits of training in gravity one hundred times that of Earth. Will it be enough to help him defeat Captain Ginyu?

Frieza locates the Eldest Namekian, but Nail intercepts the evil entity, risking his own life to preserve the Dragon Balls. Elsewhere, Gohan and Krillin rescue a damsel from some dinosaurs, and Goku continues his battle with Captain Ginyu.

Gohan and Krillin - with the aid of the young Namekian Dende - rush to make their wishes before Vegeta or Frieza discover their trickery. When the dragon is unable to grant their request, a departed ally offers advice from the afterlife.

Piccolo is resurrected and ready to rumble, but his arrival is delayed by an encounter with a dying Namekian. Meanwhile, Vegeta prepares to throw down with Frieza, but the Saiyan prince may be badly over-matched.

Vegeta is impressed by Gohan’s furious outburst after Frieza strikes a death blow against Krillin. The two Saiyans work together to defeat the monster, but even their combined powers won’t be enough spare their lives!

After suffering a savage beating at the hands of Frieza, Goku summons the awesome power of the Kaio-Ken! If his desperate attack succeeds, victory will be his, but if it fails, the Saiyan race will be eliminated!

When his most powerful attacks fail to faze Frieza, Goku turns to his ultimate weapon: the Spirit Bomb! Piccolo joins the fight to buy Goku some time, but can the noble Namekian survive long enough to taste sweet victory?

Despite the danger of Namek’s impending implosion, Goku continues his battle with Frieza, determined to extract revenge for Krillin’s murder. Elsewhere, Gohan tries to locate Bulma before it’s too late!

Gohan, having absolutely no qualms over killing the Cell Juniors has moved on to Cell itself, willing to drag on the fight as long as possible if only to make Cell suffer that much more.
