Cast & Chracters

Mark Scout
Mark Scout, portrayed by Adam Scott, is the protagonist of 'Severance.' Formerly a history professor specializing in World War I, Mark undergoes the 'severance' procedure at Lumon Industries to cope with the grief of losing his wife, Gemma, in a car accident. This procedure bifurcates his consciousness into 'innie' and 'outie' personas. As 'Mark S.,' he serves as the department chief of the Macrodata Refinement (MDR) division. Mark's journey is central to the series, as he begins to question the ethics of Lumon's practices and the true nature of his severed existence.

Helly Riggs
Helly Riggs, also known as Helly R., is portrayed by Britt Lower. She is introduced as a new, rebellious employee in Lumon's Macrodata Refinement department. Helly's 'innie' persona is characterized by her defiance against the constraints of the severed environment, often challenging company protocols. A significant revelation in the series uncovers that her 'outie' persona is Helena Eagan, a high-ranking member of Lumon's founding family, adding complexity to her character and the overarching narrative.

Seth Milchick
Seth Milchick, played by Tramell Tillman, is the Deputy Manager on Lumon's severed floor. He is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring compliance among severed employees. Milchick is known for his unwavering loyalty to Lumon and his strict enforcement of company policies. His interactions with the Macrodata Refinement team often highlight the power dynamics within the organization.

Dylan George
Dylan George, portrayed by Zach Cherry, is a member of Lumon's Macrodata Refinement department. Within the severed environment, Dylan is known for his enthusiasm for company incentives and perks. His character provides moments of levity, yet he also grapples with the implications of the severance procedure, especially when he discovers aspects of his 'outie' life that he was previously unaware of.

Devon Scout-Hale
Devon Scout-Hale, played by Jen Tullock, is Mark Scout's sister. She is married to Ricken Hale, an eccentric self-help author. Devon serves as a grounding presence in Mark's 'outie' life, offering support and insight as he navigates the challenges posed by his severed existence. Her character adds depth to the exploration of familial relationships affected by the severance procedure.

Ms. Casey
Ms. Casey, portrayed by Dichen Lachman, is the wellness counselor on Lumon's severed floor. She conducts therapy sessions with employees, aiming to maintain their mental well-being within the confines of the severed environment. A pivotal plot development reveals that Ms. Casey is, in fact, Gemma Scout, Mark's presumed-deceased wife, adding a profound layer to the narrative and Mark's personal journey.

Eustice Huang
Eustice Huang, played by Sarah Bock, is introduced in the second season as the new Deputy Manager of the severed floor at Lumon. Her character brings a fresh dynamic to the management team, and her interactions with both employees and superiors contribute to the evolving power structure within the company.

Irving Bailiff
Irving Bailiff, portrayed by John Turturro, is a senior employee in Lumon's Macrodata Refinement department. He is characterized by his strict adherence to company policies and his deep-seated loyalty to Lumon. Irving's journey becomes more complex as he develops a close relationship with Burt Goodman, leading him to question his beliefs and the nature of his severed existence.

Burt Goodman
Burt Goodman, played by Christopher Walken, is the head of Lumon's Optics and Design (O&D) division. As a severed employee, Burt's interactions with Irving Bailiff introduce themes of connection and individuality within the controlled environment of Lumon. Their relationship challenges the boundaries imposed by the severance procedure and adds emotional depth to the series.

Harmony Cobel
Harmony Cobel, portrayed by Patricia Arquette, is the manager of Lumon's severed floor. She operates under the alias 'Mrs. Selvig' in the outside world, where she is Mark Scout's neighbor. Cobel is a complex character, embodying the duality of enforcing Lumon's strict policies while harboring her own secrets and motivations. Her role is central to the unfolding mystery and ethical questions presented in the series.
