Cast & Chracters

Princess Bean (voice)
Princess Tiabeanie Mariabeanie de la Rochambeau Grunkwitz, commonly known as Bean, is the rebellious and hard-drinking princess of Dreamland. Voiced by Abbi Jacobson, Bean is the daughter of King Zøg and Queen Dagmar, and the stepdaughter of Queen Oona. She often shirks her royal responsibilities in favor of adventure and mischief, frequently escaping the castle to indulge in drinking and escapades. Despite her defiant nature, Bean harbors a deep care for her friends and the people of Dreamland. Over the course of the series, she discovers latent magical abilities, including the power to produce black lightning, hinting at a mysterious heritage. Bean's full name is Princess Tiabeanie Mariabeanie de la Rochambeau Grunkwitz.

Bunty (voice)
Bunty is a devoted and kind-hearted servant in the royal household of Dreamland. She is married to Stan the Executioner and is known for her unwavering loyalty to Princess Bean, often assisting her in various escapades and providing maternal support. Bunty's nurturing nature contrasts with the often chaotic environment of the castle, and she serves as a grounding presence for Bean amidst the princess's rebellious adventures.

Elfo (voice)
Elfo is a naive and optimistic half-elf from the hidden land of Elfwood. Voiced by Nat Faxon, he leaves his homeland in search of a more authentic experience of life, yearning to feel a broader range of emotions beyond the perpetual happiness of his fellow elves. Elfo becomes one of Princess Bean's closest companions, joining her on numerous adventures and developing a deep, albeit complicated, affection for her. His innocent demeanor often leads him into precarious situations, but his loyalty and bravery make him an invaluable friend. Elfo's unique heritage and the magical properties of his blood become central to several plotlines throughout the series.

Queen Oona / Prince Derek (voice)
Queen Oona is King Zøg's second wife and the queen of Dreamland during the first season. Voiced by Tress MacNeille, Oona is a humanoid amphibian creature from the kingdom of Dankmire, married into the royal family as part of a political alliance. She often struggles to adapt to human customs and is perceived as eccentric by the court. Oona is the mother of Prince Derek, Zøg's and Oona's 14-year-old hybrid son and Bean's half-brother. Derek, also voiced by Tress MacNeille, is a timid and impressionable young prince who looks up to his older half-sister, Bean, despite often being brushed off by her. He harbors a recurring fear of a giant skillet due to a traumatic childhood experience. Throughout the series, Derek's character evolves as he grapples with his royal duties and personal insecurities.
The Herald (voice)
The Herald is the kingdom's official announcer, known for his loud and often grating proclamations. Voiced by David Herman, he serves as the primary source of news and information within the castle, delivering messages with exaggerated enthusiasm. His over-the-top announcements frequently annoy the inhabitants of Dreamland, but he remains dedicated to his role, ensuring that all royal decrees and events are communicated to the public.

Odval (voice)
Odval is the three-eyed prime minister of Dreamland, serving as King Zøg's chief advisor. Voiced by Maurice LaMarche, Odval is characterized by his cunning and secretive nature, often engaging in clandestine activities to further his own agenda. He is a key member of a secret society operating within the castle, and his loyalty to the crown is frequently called into question. Despite his scheming tendencies, Odval maintains a facade of loyalty and competence, making him a complex and enigmatic figure within the royal court.

Sorcerio (voice)
Sorcerio is the inept and bumbling court wizard of Dreamland. Voiced by Billy West, he often provides dubious magical solutions to the kingdom's problems, with his spells frequently resulting in unintended consequences. Despite his lack of skill, Sorcerio holds a position of authority within the court and is involved in various schemes alongside other advisors. His character adds a comedic element to the series, highlighting the often absurd nature of the kingdom's inner workings.

Luci (voice)
Luci is a small, cat-like demon who becomes Princess Bean's personal demon. Voiced by Eric André, Luci was initially sent from the kingdom of Maru to corrupt Bean and lead her towards darkness. However, over time, he develops a genuine friendship with Bean and Elfo, often providing sarcastic commentary and encouraging rebellious behavior. Despite his demonic origins, Luci exhibits moments of loyalty and compassion, even sacrificing his immortality to save Elfo. His mischievous nature and penchant for chaos add a dynamic layer to the trio's adventures.

King Zøg (voice)
King Zøg is the hot-tempered and often oblivious ruler of Dreamland. Voiced by John DiMaggio, he is the father of Princess Bean and Prince Derek. Zøg's leadership is marked by a mix of authoritarianism and incompetence, frequently leading to turmoil within the kingdom. He has a strained relationship with his daughter, Bean, often misunderstanding her rebellious nature. Despite his flaws, Zøg occasionally shows moments of genuine care for his family and kingdom, though his methods are often misguided. His character provides both comedic and dramatic elements to the series, as he navigates the challenges of ruling a kingdom and managing his personal relationships.

Stan the Executioner (voice)
Stan the Executioner is the royal executioner of Dreamland, responsible for carrying out the kingdom's capital punishments. Voiced by Noel Fielding, Stan is characterized by his morbid sense of humor and nonchalant attitude towards his grim profession. He is married to Bunty, a servant in the royal household, and their relationship adds a domestic subplot to the series. Despite his occupation, Stan often provides comic relief, showcasing a surprisingly laid-back demeanor in contrast to the gruesome nature of his job.
