Cast & Chracters

Jeff Winger
Jeffrey Tobias "Jeff" Winger, portrayed by Joel McHale, is a former lawyer who enrolls at Greendale Community College after being disbarred for falsely claiming to have a bachelor's degree. Charismatic and quick-witted, Jeff initially forms a study group to pursue romantic interests but gradually becomes a central figure in the group's dynamics. His journey at Greendale challenges his narcissistic tendencies, leading to personal growth and deeper connections with his peers.

Britta Perry
Britta Perry, played by Gillian Jacobs, is a politically conscious and outspoken student at Greendale. Having dropped out of high school to impress a band, she later pursues education to become a therapist. Britta's strong moral compass and activist nature often put her at odds with others, earning her the nickname "buzzkill." Despite her pretensions, she genuinely cares for her friends and strives to make a positive impact.

Abed Nadir
Abed Gubi Nadir, portrayed by Danny Pudi, is a film student of Palestinian and Polish descent with an encyclopedic knowledge of television and movies. His unique perspective, often interpreting real-life events through the lens of pop culture, suggests he is on the autism spectrum. Abed's analytical nature and passion for filmmaking make him a beloved member of the study group, particularly forming a close bond with Troy Barnes.

Annie Edison
Annie Edison, played by Alison Brie, is the youngest member of the study group and a compulsive overachiever. After overcoming an Adderall addiction in high school, she enrolls at Greendale to rebuild her academic life. Annie's relentless organization and innocence contrast with her occasional obsessive tendencies, but her dedication and growth earn her the respect and affection of her peers.

Dean Craig Pelton
Dean Craig Pelton, portrayed by Jim Rash, is the eccentric and enthusiastic dean of Greendale Community College. Often seen in elaborate costumes, he strives to make Greendale a legitimate institution while fostering a politically correct and inclusive environment. Dean Pelton's ambiguous sexuality and flamboyant behavior add comedic elements to the series, and his fondness for the study group leads him to become deeply involved in their lives.

Ben Chang
Ben Chang, played by Ken Jeong, is a former Spanish teacher at Greendale who becomes increasingly unhinged throughout the series. Initially an authority figure, Chang's erratic behavior leads to his dismissal, after which he oscillates between various roles, including student and security guard. His unpredictable antics and desire for acceptance make him a wild card within the Greendale community.

Francesca "Frankie" Dart
Francesca "Frankie" Dart, portrayed by Paget Brewster, is a consultant hired to improve Greendale in the sixth season. Practical and no-nonsense, Frankie often clashes with the study group's unconventional methods but ultimately becomes an integral part of their circle. Her presence brings a stabilizing influence, and she is instrumental in implementing reforms that help "save" Greendale.

Elroy Patashnik
Elroy Patashnik, played by Keith David, is a failed inventor and software programmer who joins Greendale in the sixth season to reinvent his life. Initially aloof, Elroy gradually bonds with the study group, contributing his technical expertise and dry humor. His journey reflects themes of redemption and the pursuit of second chances within the Greendale community.
